Naiduniya representative, Indore. With the aim of improving the city’s traffic system, the Traffic Mitra campaign started in the city from Monday. Urban Administration and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava formally launched it at the Basketball Complex.
In the programme, more than a thousand students, doctors, lawyers and social workers were administered the oath of traffic management. All of them will manage the traffic on various intersections of the city every Saturday and Sunday for one year.

He said that whenever I will be in Indore, I will definitely do duty at some intersection. In the program, the logo, song, website, internet media handler related to Traffic Mitra Abhiyan were launched. A brochure of various programs to be organized throughout the year was also released.
On this occasion, Minister Vijayvargiya said that I am proud that Indore does what it says. We all have to take a pledge to make Indore number one in traffic. Be aware of the city’s traffic management and your health and use a bicycle once a week. Mayor Bhargava said that with the cooperation of the citizens of Indore, we have been able to achieve the target of planting trees in record time.
Now we have to work towards making Indore number one in traffic. During the Pravasi Sammelan, guests from different countries, the President, the Prime Minister along with the entire cabinet were in Indore. During the seven days of the event, Indore followed the traffic rules honestly and did not allow any traffic jams to occur. If we ourselves are on the roads, then Indore will be number one in traffic. The way we have shown willpower in cleanliness, we will have to show the same willpower in traffic as well.
Five major campaigns will be run under the Traffic Mitra Abhiyan
1- Under ‘Main Hoon Traffic Mitra’, one thousand students, doctors, lawyers, social workers will manage the traffic system at major intersections every Saturday and Sunday evening.
2- Under Traffic Talk, 48 sessions will be organized in schools and colleges throughout the year. These will include the police department, RTO department, traffic experts and the mayor. There will be discussions on improving Indore’s traffic.
3- Under the traffic meeting, 24 meetings will be held in a year with various organizations. Various groups like textile association, mill association, iron merchants association will be discussed about their role in traffic improvement.
4- Under No Helmet No Entry, a rule will be implemented in government and private institutions that employees without helmets will not be allowed to enter the office.
5- Oath Abhiyan- Under this, 10 minutes will be given on traffic improvement in social, political and religious events. People will be informed about traffic rules. They will be administered oath to follow the rules.
