Naiduniya representative, Indore. A big exercise is going on to improve the deteriorating traffic system in Indore city. The traffic police is preparing to change the timing of more than a hundred intersections, routes and traffic signals. A plan has been prepared to build rotaries at major intersections.

Engineers from SGSIT College have also been involved in this change. The aim of this exercise is to improve the traffic of the city so that the drivers can pass without any worry. Police Commissioner Rakesh Gupta held a meeting with the traffic officers of the city on Wednesday.

Two rotaries and two signals will be constructed.

Through a presentation, the ACP explained the condition of those intersections where there is a lot of traffic pressure. The most problematic was Madhumilan intersection. After seeing the picture of vehicles getting entangled, it was decided that two rotaries and two signals will be built at the intersection.

Before this, a team of engineers from SGSIT College and traffic police will visit. A plan has been made to break the island to improve the system of the under bypass located at Scheme-140. Similarly, to reduce the pressure from Star Chauraha to Devasnaka, heavy vehicles will be removed from MR-11.

However, a proposal has been made to widen this road. According to DCP (Traffic) Arvind Tiwari, there is a flaw in the rotary at Azadnagar crossing. Due to this, traffic pressure reaches White Church. The new rotary will be built as per IRC standards.

Pressure study in the cantonment and traffic will be diverted at Dhobi Ghat

According to the commissioner, vehicles get entangled at the cantonment crossing. The traffic police will study this crossing. Vehicles coming and going from Agrasen crossing and Madhumilan crossing will be able to pass easily. There is less space from the Indira Gandhi statue to the cantonment. A proposal has been made to make a left turn divider by removing encroachment. ACP Kiran Sharma said that electricity poles have to be removed at the GPO crossing. Road marking and cat eye are required.

Ring Road (Piplyahana Underbridge): Heavy vehicles, medium vehicles, small and big passenger buses, school and college buses coming from other districts and cities enter the city through this road. Traffic pressure is increasing day by day due to the presence of hospitals, hotels, schools and colleges. Metro work is going on from Radisson Hotel towards Khajrana Square. Due to this, the roads have become narrow. Satya Sai Square: There are flaws in the design of this square itself. Vehicles going from Vijay Nagar towards Scheme-54 stop at unnecessary signals. Despite having sufficient space on the left turn, the left turn is obstructed by making a big island in front of the shops and installing electric poles and banks. Sayaji Hotel Square: The big rotary of this square was removed due to the construction of the metro. A temporary rotary has been made by covering it with tin. There is a signal but a rotary is required according to the traffic.
