Indira Sagar Dam: The amount of water from Indira Sagar and Omkareshwar dams started decreasing, the water level of Narmada decreased

Water is being released into Narmada from the gates of Omkareshwar dam

Due to the gates being open, the flow of water in the Narmada river had increased. After the water level became consistent with the month of August, the gates of the dam have been closed. Water has started receding from the ghats of Omkareshwar in Khandwa district.

Khandwa, Naiduniya Representative. The water level of the dams has started to be controlled due to continuous release of water from the gates of Indira Sagar and Omkareshwar Dam. In view of this, the height of the gates and the amount of water have been reduced on Saturday. This has caused some decrease in the water level of the Narmada River. However, electricity is being produced at full capacity from both the dams.

To control the water level of Indira Sagar and Omkareshwar dam, the gates were opened for the first time this season on Wednesday. Due to this the level of the reservoir is becoming normal. It is known that water is being released into the Narmada river by opening 12 gates of Indira Sagar dam and Omkareshwar dam. Due to this the water level of Narmada has increased.

The water level of Omkareshwar dam on Saturday morning is 19556 meters

About 5688 cumecs of water is being released from the upstream Indira Sagar Dam and 1840 cumecs from the power house, i.e. a total of 7528 cumecs of water. Apart from this, water is also coming in from local rivers. Due to this, the total inflow of water is about 8000 cumecs.

In view of this situation, from 2 PM today, out of the 19 open gates of Omkareshwar Dam, four gates will be closed and 6207 cumecs of water will be released from 15 gates and 1896 cumecs from the power house, i.e. a total of 8103 cumecs of water will be released.
