Narendra Joshi, Naiduniya Ratlam (Indian Railway). It would be wonderful if during a train journey you need hot cow milk for your baby and you get it in the moving train with just one phone call. Even better would be if you need any medicine, that too is available in the train.

Not only this, if you have forgotten to bring diapers for your child, then you will get diapers in the train just by giving an information. All this is becoming possible in the trains of Ratlam Railway Division these days. Actually, Ratlam Railway Division is writing a new page in the book of passenger facilities these days.

All this is being done through platforms like Rail Madad App, X (formerly Twitter) and TTE Call. In the last three months, 700 passengers have been provided facilities through this. In the month of July alone, 237 passengers have taken advantage of this facility and ordered goods.

However, for this the passenger has to pay the price of the item he has ordered. It is also interesting that among all the railway divisions of Western Railway, Ratlam division has got excellent rating. This rating has been given on the basis of passenger satisfaction.

This is how the system works

As soon as information is received through Facebook, X, TTE call or any other medium, the location of the train is ascertained. After this, information is sent to the next station that a passenger travelling on this PNR in a particular coach, on a particular seat, needs this item.

The staff at the next station is immediately alerted and arranges for the required service or item required by the passenger. As soon as the train arrives, the team reaches the passenger and the required service or item is provided to him.

The railways gives first priority to health services, second priority to essential items like milk and diapers and third priority to other things needed during travel like mobile charger, earphones etc. The passenger has to pay for the services. The fee for doctor’s service is fixed at Rs 200, the amount written on the bill for the remaining items has to be paid.

also strict monitoring

The Railway Division is also constantly monitoring to provide essential items to passengers during their journey. Railways is most alert about health related issues. In the last three months, the demand for items related to women passengers and children (milk, sanitary napkins, diapers etc.) has been fulfilled. 34 information regarding help to Divyangjan was also received, on which immediate help was provided.

such demands

25 July: Railway help was informed about a two-year-old child suffering from stomach ache and vomiting in train number 11464. Medical assistance was provided as soon as the train reached Nagda Junction station. 17 July: A passenger in train number 19489 asked for three liters of hot cow milk, which was made available at Ratlam station.
