Gas Cylinder Subsidy: Gas connection will be in the name of the woman… only then will you get the cylinder for Rs 450

State Bureau, Naiduniya, Bhopal. To get LPG cylinder for Rs. 450 in the state, transferring the connection from a man’s name to a woman’s name will not work. No such case will be accepted. The benefit of the scheme will be available only to those women in whose name the LPG cylinder was collected at the time of the start of the scheme.

40 lakh women benefited

At present, the difference amount is being given as grant to 40 lakh women in the state to provide LPG cylinders at Rs 450. Before the assembly elections, the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had implemented a scheme to provide LPG cylinders at Rs 450 to women included in the Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana.

Beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana were also included in this. To take advantage of the scheme, many consumers got the connection in the name of women instead of their own names, but this will not be accepted.

The scheme is only for Ujjwala Yojana and Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna. If the LPG connection is in the name of men, it will not be accepted. After the implementation of the scheme, a large number of cases of transfer of connections have come to light. It is noteworthy that a grant of Rs 579 crore has been given from July 2023 to March 2024. A grant of Rs 52.44 crore for April and May 2024 is yet to be given. For this, the government has now implemented the LPG Assistance Scheme (Ujjwala) and LPG Assistance Scheme (Non-Ujjwala). Now through this, the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department will pay the grant amount to the oil companies. The companies will transfer the grant amount directly to the accounts of women.
