Naiduniya Representative, Alirajpur: Two parties came face to face after a couple returning from Garba Pandal was assaulted in the city late on Sunday night. The uproar increased so much that Collector Abhay Arvind Bedekar and Superintendent of Police Rajesh Vyas had to reach the spot and handle the situation. After about three hours of uproar, people calmed down on the assurance of strict action. Police have registered a case against seven accused, out of which two have been arrested.
Argument near the mosque while returning from Garba Pandal
According to the information, the couple from Mali community were returning home from the Garba pandal on Sunday night. During this time, he had an argument with the youth of a particular community near Jama Masjid regarding making noise. It is alleged that the youth beat up the couple.
As soon as information about this was received, people of the society gathered outside the house of the accused and the two parties came face to face. As soon as the information was received, the police also reached the spot. The uproar increased so much that people started fighting in front of the police. The police dispersed the crowd using mild force.
Collector gave warning
After this the Collector took the mike and addressed the crowd saying that strict action will be taken against those who are accused. No one will be spared. No one should try to take the law into their hands. After this, the police reached the police station with the victim and a case has been registered against seven accused under various sections.
