Questioning the inaction of the Mohan government in the state regarding increasing crimes against girls and women in the state, the state unit of Congress organized a mass fast at Roshanpura Chowk in the capital under the Beti Bachao Abhiyan. In this demonstration, State Congress in-charge Jitendra Singh, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, Digvijay Singh, State Congress President Jitu Patwari, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Umang Singhar, former State President Arun Yadav, Kantilal Bhuria, National Secretary Sanjay Dutt, former Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh, Many leaders and party workers including former minister Kamleshwar Patel, Sajjan Singh Verma, Vijayalakshmi Sadho, PC Sharma, Lakhan Ghanghoria participated.

After a long time, all the senior Congress leaders appeared on one stage. Before the by-elections to be held on two assembly seats of the state, Congress also tried to give a message of unity through this demonstration.

On this occasion, Congress State President Jitu Patwari said that women and daughters are not safe under the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh. Crimes against women are continuously increasing and the government is silent instead of taking action. In protest against this silence of the government, all the senior leaders and workers of Madhya Pradesh Congress are on fast under the ‘Beti Bachao Abhiyan’. The entire Congress Party will end this misrule of the society in a Gandhian way.

A target was set to bring 100-100 people from each district for this program. For this, a letter was also sent by the organization to all the district and city Congress presidents along with the district in-charges of Beti Bachao Abhiyan. Along with this, all the former officials of Madhya Pradesh Congress, block presidents, divisional and sector presidents and other public representatives were called to Bhopal to participate in the fasting programme.
