State Bureau, Naiduniya, Bhopal. Congress has come out on the streets over issues like atrocities on women, demand for 33 percent reservation, inflation, etc. On Wednesday, the women’s unit of MP Congress started Nari Nyay Andolan in the capital Bhopal. A large number of women workers gathered at Roshanpura Chowk under the leadership of State President of Mahila Congress Vibha Patel and demonstrated and raised slogans against the government. Former minister and MLA PC Sharma and some other leaders also attended this demonstration.

After the Mahila Congress held a meeting at Roshanpura crossing, a march was taken out to submit a memorandum to Raj Bhavan. A little distance away from the Raj Bhavan, the police put up barricades and stopped the women activists from proceeding further. During this time, some women climbed the barricades.

There was a scuffle with the police personnel while proceeding towards the Raj Bhavan, in which the State Women Congress President Vibha Patel fell on the road and fainted. Fellow women took care of her. After some time, the protest ended after submitting a memorandum.

It is worth noting that the Nari Nyay Andolan was started by the All India Mahila Congress from New Delhi on 29 July 2024. Now the Congress is preparing to expand it in the state to women of urban and rural areas.
