Cleanliness is service fortnight starts today, start from home with government machinery, we have to stop relying on the government and system’s machinery, it is our responsibility and preparation to bring the city to the top, better results are certain

Priyank Sharma. Naiduniya Gwalior. Gwalior’s name should be renowned in the country and state for cleanliness, now it is time to bring this hope to reality. We have to stop relying on the government and the system’s machinery, we have to start from our own homes and resolve to bring cleanliness at all costs. Our responsibility and preparation to bring the city to the top, better results are certain. We will not spread garbage ourselves and will stop others from doing so, this one habit can change the picture of Gwalior.

Instead of looking at the cleanliness of Indore, we can also be proud of the cleanliness of our city. From September 17, the district government is running a fortnight till October 2 under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. Naiduniya is going to start a cleanliness campaign in which, under the slogan “Come condemn the dirt, come clean your city”, along with making the public aware to clean the city, important suggestions and the efforts and failures of the system will be put forward.

Naiduniya suggestion: Whoever creates mess, corporation should issue notice and e-challan should be issued

Gwalior has a complete system of Nagar Nigam, there are more than three thousand sanitation workers, a large fleet, yet there are a lot of complaints about cleanliness. Wherever there is an empty space, garbage is thrown there, now this habit has to be corrected. Whether it is a market or a house, an empty plot or a ground, wherever garbage is thrown, a notice should be issued to the thrower by the Nagar Nigam. The meaning of issuing a notice is that the person who throws garbage should realize that if he throws garbage, he will be a party to the action. For this, Nagar Nigam can also adopt the system of e-challan like other departments, in Gwalior, help can be taken from Smart City to police cameras as well as public participation cameras. With such efforts, there will be strictness about spreading garbage and people will also realize responsibility.

Make people aware of the places where they have a habit of throwing garbage and get them cleaned

Get health insurance for all Safai Mitras (sanitation workers). This work should be done on priority during the “Swachhata Hi Seva-2024” campaign to be organized in the district from September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Collector Ruchika Chauhan gave this instruction to the Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Project Officer District Urban Development Agency, CMOs of all urban bodies and other concerned officials. The Collector was reviewing the preparations for the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign through Google Meet. The Collector said that all the urban bodies of the district, including the Municipal Corporation, should mark such places, where garbage points have been thrown by the people of the local settlements and are becoming a hindrance in the cleanliness of the city. He said that all such places should be cleaned. Along with this, local people should also be made aware not to throw garbage there. The Collector has sought an action plan from the concerned officials within a week to get the health insurance of Safai Mitras.
