Hurt by Indore’s deteriorating climate
This is the hard work of a person who was hurt by the deteriorating environment of Indore and who came to Indore from Chhindwara only for his daughter’s education. The daughter was not happy living alone in a room here. In such a situation, the parents left everything and came to Indore to support the daughter. Here the daughter would stay out of the house for studies, but the father would sit at home all day.
A lush forest was ready in 2 years
In such a situation, the father thought that he should work on his hobby. Since he is a farmer and enjoys gardening, he went to the Municipal Corporation and told about his hobby of planting trees in the city. Seeing his passion, the corporation asked him to fill the tender for developing a city forest in the city. Coincidentally, his price was low, so he got the tender. After this, the husband and wife together converted the barren land given by the Municipal Corporation into a lush forest in just 2 years.
Sanjay Patel had come to Indore from Chhindwara
Here we are talking about Sanjay Patel, a resident of Chhindwara. Looking at the plants growing in Pipaliyahana area, Patel said that this land was barren till 2 years ago. My daughter was in Indore for IIT coaching, but she did not like staying alone. Due to compulsion, we husband and wife also came to Indore with her. Here I saw that a large area of land in Pipaliyahana area is lying barren.

I am a farmer and planting trees and taking care of them is my sanskar. I took a pledge that one day I will make this barren land green. It is said that when your resolve is pure, God himself helps you. The same thing happened with me. When I discussed with the corporation officials with the resolve to make the barren land green, they asked me to fill the tender for City Forest. – Sanjay Patel
Today more than 10 thousand plants are planted in the city forest
Sanjay Patel says that it was a divine miracle that my tender was opened and I got a chance to fulfill my resolve. The result of two years of hard work is that more than 10 thousand plants in the City Forest have grown to a height of 10 to 15 feet today. My wife and I remain engaged in taking care of these plants throughout the day. All these plants are like my sons to me.
Patel says that while explaining the importance of trees in our Vedas, it has been said that one stepwell is equal to 10 wells, one pond is equal to 10 stepwells, one son is equal to 10 ponds and one tree is equal to 10 sons. These thousands of my sons will grow up and take care of not only my health but the health of the entire city. Even today they are providing fresh and pure oxygen to the city dwellers to breathe.
