State Bureau, Naiduniya, Bhopal: Atishi, who is going to take over as the Chief Minister of Delhi, has a deep connection with some districts of Madhya Pradesh. In 2015, she participated in the Jal Satyagraha held in Ghoghalgaon of Khandwa district under the Narmada Bachao Andolan. She stayed here for 32 days. She did not get into the water but addressed public meetings for several days.
Was involved in the movement of Khandwa
Alok Agarwal, who was the Madhya Pradesh president of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), said that due to being very sensitive and dedicated towards issues, Atishi quickly mingled with the agitators and the people of the village. This movement was carried out because of the villages getting submerged due to the increase in the height of the Omkareshwar dam. Atishi also got national recognition from this Jal Satyagraha which became a topic of discussion across the country.
Atishi also worked with an NGO in Madhya Pradesh. In this, she tried to promote organic farming and education in the districts around Bhopal. This work was her experiment to establish Gram Swaraj.
