A new way of online fraud in Jabalpur, introduced himself as an engineer for marriage… this is how the secret was revealed

Naiduniya, Jabalpur (Jabalpur News). A family in Adhartal of Jabalpur in MP was looking for a good groom for their daughter’s marriage. For this, they had created an ID on a matrimony site. One day the mobile rang, when they picked up the phone, a voice came from the other side- Hello, I am Prakhar Singh. I want to marry your daughter. This is how the conversation started. Prakhar introduced himself as an engineer in the National Highway Authority of India and his father as a project director in Bhopal.

He called me and said that he needed a lot of money

Relatives said- Prakhar Singh had told that he wanted to get married. We are from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. The family liked the boy so they agreed. They talked for a few days and then one day suddenly Prakhar called and told that he needed a lot of money.

By taking you in confidence, get the money transferred to your account

By deceiving the girl and her father, Prakhar transferred the money to his bank account. When Prakhar stopped picking up the phone, the fraud came to light. Adhartal police have registered a case against the unknown accused on Friday.

Engagement was fixed on 15th July and marriage in November

Adhartal police said that after a phone conversation between the two parties, the engagement was fixed on July 15 and the marriage in November. After this, on June 9, Prakhar called the girl’s father and asked for Rs 36,700 to buy an engagement ring. He immediately sent the amount to the bank account mentioned by Prakhar.

Grandfather’s health is bad, asked to postpone the engagement

Prakhar asked to postpone the engagement date because of his grandfather’s ill health. Two days later, he called and asked for a help of 55 thousand rupees for his treatment. He promised to return it. After sending this amount, the youth’s phone stopped ringing. During interrogation, the youth’s statement about being posted in NHAI turned out to be false. The victims went to Adhartal police station and complained about the fraud.
