Bhopal has marked a significant milestone in electoral preparedness as the final electoral roll for Madhya Pradesh was officially released today. Following an intensive four-month Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive that kicked off on October 27, 2025, the state has finalized its voter list based on the qualifying date of January 1, 2026.

The process saw claims and objections for additions, deletions, and corrections accepted from December 23, 2025, to January 22, 2026. Election officials meticulously verified and resolved these by February 14, 2026, ensuring accuracy and transparency.

This massive undertaking received unprecedented support across the state. Key contributors included 55 district election officers, 230 electoral registration officers, 533 assistant officers, and a whopping 71,930 booth-level officers (BLOs), alongside countless volunteers. Media outlets, political parties, and various organizations played pivotal roles in its success.

Out of 5.74 crore registered voters, forms were collected from 5.31 crore, all fully digitized. BLOs conducted door-to-door surveys to identify deceased voters, those permanently shifted, and duplicates.

Post-SIR initiation, enumeration forms were distributed to 5.74 crore voters in mission mode. Verification meetings involved BLOs and party agents to address deaths, absentees, shifts, and duplicates. Relevant lists were published on district and chief electoral officer websites.

The draft roll started with 5.74 crore voters, dropped to 5.31 crore after scrutiny, and climbed to 5.39 crore in the final list—a net addition of 8.49 lakh voters. This reflects robust cleanup and inclusion efforts.

The final list is now available at all polling stations, designated sites, and the chief electoral officer’s website. Copies have been handed to recognized political parties per regulations, empowering voters to check their details easily.
