A loud bang near the Radisson Hotel in Delhi’s Mahipalpur area on Thursday morning triggered an immediate security response, leading to a brief period of alarm. Emergency teams, including police and bomb disposal experts, were swiftly dispatched to the location. The heightened vigilance is particularly significant, given the recent terrorist car blast near the Red Fort. However, Delhi Police soon clarified that the incident was not a bomb explosion. Investigations revealed the source of the noise to be a burst tyre on a DTC bus. The alarm was raised at approximately 9:18 AM when a woman reported hearing a loud sound. In response, fire services deployed three fire tenders, and police cordoned off the area while bomb disposal teams conducted a thorough check as a precautionary measure. Police officials confirmed that a guard at the scene explained the sound was from the rear tyre of a DTC bus traveling towards Dhaula Kuan bursting. The situation has been declared normal. This event unfolds against a backdrop of intensified security measures across Delhi and other states following the November 10th fatal car blast near the Red Fort, which resulted in 12 deaths. The Red Fort incident has been officially classified as a terrorist attack, with the NIA now investigating the specifics of the explosives and the perpetrators.
