    New Delhi: On the 59th death anniversary of India’s second Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, a wave of remembrance swept across the nation. Union ministers and chief ministers gathered to honor the leader known for his simplicity and the iconic ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ slogan.

    Shastri’s untimely demise on January 11, 1966, in Tashkent remains shrouded in mystery, but his legacy endures. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the tributes, posting on social media, ‘Lal Bahadur Shastri ji’s life was a shining example of integrity and patriotism.’

    At the Shastri memorial in Delhi, Home Minister Amit Shah laid wreaths and recalled Shastri’s role in the 1965 Indo-Pak war. ‘His leadership united the nation during crisis,’ Shah said.

    Chief ministers from various states joined virtually and in person. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted Shastri’s Ramnagar roots, saying, ‘Uttar Pradesh is proud of its son who put nation first.’

    Shastri’s contributions to agriculture and soldier welfare transformed India. His call for self-reliance resonates today amid global challenges. Schools and offices held events, with students reciting his speeches.

    The day underscored Shastri’s relevance. As India faces modern tests, his principles of hard work and honesty inspire millions. Tributes continue, ensuring his memory lives on.
