A man in Maharashtra faced a harrowing situation when he had to carry his newborn’s body in a carry bag for 90 kilometers after being denied an ambulance. The event occurred in Nashik Civil Hospital.

Sakharam Kavar, the distraught father, stated that he lost his daughter due to the healthcare system’s negligence. His wife began labor on June 11 at Khodala PHC. He attempted to contact an ambulance, as well as reach out to Asha workers and 108, but received no help. He then arranged a private vehicle to transport his wife to Khodala Public Health Centre.

Upon arrival at the PHC, his wife was reportedly made to wait for an hour before being referred to Mokhada Civil Hospital. After doctors at Mokhada Civil Hospital couldn’t detect the fetus’s heartbeat, they advised the couple to go to Nashik Civil Hospital. An ambulance was eventually arranged to take her to Nashik Civil Hospital, where she delivered a stillborn baby on June 12.

Separately, in Madhya Pradesh, a 25-year-old man set himself on fire following problems with his girlfriend, and later died from his injuries. Ajay Kushwaha, the man involved, set himself on fire in front of the woman’s house on the night of June 13, allegedly due to financial disagreements.
