    Kheri village in the Bantalab area of Jammu has been severely impacted by landslides caused by heavy monsoon rains over the past few days. The persistent rainfall has led to widespread damage, with approximately 15 to 20 houses damaged or destroyed. Residents are now facing displacement and are seeking shelter in makeshift tents due to the unsafe conditions of their homes. The affected community, many of whom had invested their life savings in these homes, are now enduring difficult living conditions.

    Residents shared their accounts of the disaster, detailing the damage to their homes and their urgent need for assistance. Javed shared his experience, highlighting the loss of his home and the lack of support from authorities. Rafia described the sudden landslide that destroyed their belongings. Rubina emphasized the need for immediate help for families, while another resident described the complete destruction of their home. Sumit Dhar of Talab Tillo in Jammu has stepped forward to provide relief to the affected families. Dhar mobilized support through social media, sharing details of his initiative.
