The Election Commission is in the final stages of preparing for the Bihar assembly elections. A crucial meeting took place in Patna, attended by all political parties, where the BJP put forward specific demands.

The BJP state president, during the meeting chaired by CEC Gynesh Kumar, requested the Election Commission to conduct the elections in just two phases. They highlighted the challenges multiple phases pose to voters and the increased financial strain on candidates.

Before the meeting, the Election Commission had invited all recognized national and state parties to participate. The announcement of the election dates is expected within a week.
