Thiruvananthapuram, January 25: Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has extended heartfelt Republic Day wishes to the people of Kerala on the occasion of India’s 77th Republic Day. In his message, the Governor highlighted the significance of the day as a reminder of adopting the Constitution and its enduring values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity that bind the nation together.
Paying tribute to freedom fighters, martyrs, and Constitution framers, especially Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, whose vision laid the foundation of the world’s largest democracy, Governor Arlekar expressed pride in Kerala’s contributions to education, healthcare, social reforms, and human development. He commended the state’s culture of harmony, inclusivity, and democratic participation.
Urging citizens to reaffirm their commitment to constitutional duties, the Governor called upon all sections of society, particularly the youth, to collectively work towards a prosperous, inclusive, and developed India by 2047. ‘Jai Hind! Jai Kerala! Vande Mataram!’ he concluded.
Meanwhile, the nation gears up for grand 77th Republic Day celebrations on January 26. A spectacular parade will unfold on Kartavya Path in Delhi, led by President Droupadi Murmu. This year’s chief guests are European Union leaders Antonio Costa and Ursula von der Leyen, marking a special international touch.
The event will showcase ‘Vande Mataram’s 150 years, India’s progress, indigenous military equipment, armed forces’ prowess, rich cultural heritage, and public participation. Celebrations commence at 10:30 AM with Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying homage at the National War Memorial. The President and foreign dignitaries will arrive in a traditional buggy, followed by flag hoisting, 21-gun salute, and the National Anthem.
