In a sharp rebuke of Rahul Gandhi, CPI(M) leader John Brittas accused the Kerala Congress of aligning with the BJP in Kerala. The comments followed remarks by Gandhi about the ruling party in the state. Brittas contended that Gandhi should concentrate on unifying the opposition instead of creating discord among secular forces. The Rajya Sabha MP made these statements after Gandhi stated his ideological opposition to both CPI(M) and the RSS. Brittas claimed that the Kerala Congress is affiliated with the BJP in the state. This exchange was triggered by Gandhi’s statement that both the RSS and CPI(M) lack public empathy and are out of touch with reality. Gandhi explained that he opposes both groups ideologically, citing their failure to connect with the public. John Brittas attended an all-party meeting in Delhi before the Parliament session. The INDIA bloc intends to raise concerns in Parliament, urging Prime Minister Modi to address key issues during the upcoming Monsoon Session. Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi expressed hope for the Prime Minister’s clarity on matters of defence, foreign policy, and electoral processes. The Parliament’s monsoon session is scheduled to last until August 21.
