The Kanwar Yatra, a major Hindu pilgrimage, has considerably impacted Delhi-NCR, causing widespread disruption. Beginning on July 11, the Yatra saw an influx of devotees, resulting in severe traffic congestion across the region. Commuters faced lengthy delays, and schools were forced to conduct classes online, affecting thousands of students. Moreover, the event was marred by instances of vandalism and altercations involving Kanwariyas, leading to public concern. Authorities introduced measures to manage the situation, including alternative routes and dedicated corridors for the pilgrims. Several incidents, including assaults and property damage, have been reported, prompting the government to promise action against miscreants. The conclusion of the Yatra on July 23 is anticipated to alleviate the traffic and other disruptions, with a return to normalcy expected by Thursday.
