New Delhi is gearing up for a spectacular display of student athleticism as Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) hosts the three-day ‘JNU Olympic 2.0’ starting January 21. Organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) JNU unit, this sports extravaganza will run through January 23, bringing together hundreds of students to showcase their talents in various disciplines.
The event aims to foster a healthy sports culture on campus, instilling discipline and team spirit among participants. From kho-kho to athletics, students will compete fiercely, highlighting their skills and dedication. ABVP emphasizes that sports go beyond physical fitness—they build leadership qualities and a ‘nation first’ mindset in the youth.
In a campus often associated with debates and protests, this initiative stands out by creating a positive, constructive atmosphere. Despite administrative hurdles, organizers have ensured a fitting platform for all athletes, complete with proper recognition.
Mayank Panchal, ABVP JNU unit president, described the Olympics as a symbol of positive change at the university. ‘We’re committed to guiding students toward a glorious, disciplined future through sports,’ he said. This event is set to redefine JNU’s vibrant identity.
Praveen Piyush, ABVP JNU minister, added that the three-day festival celebrates every student’s sporting spirit. ‘JNU youth aren’t just classroom scholars; they dominate the fields too,’ he noted, wishing all participants the best.
As preparations reach fever pitch, anticipation builds for memorable moments, stronger bonds, and a renewed focus on holistic student development at JNU.
