Srinagar buzzed with urgency on Tuesday as Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha presided over a crucial high-level security review meeting at the Civil Secretariat’s Lok Bhawan. Triggered by recent developments in Iran, the session aimed to scrutinize the union territory’s security apparatus amid rising regional uncertainties.

Key military and police brass attended, including Northern Command Chief Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma, J&K Police Director General Nalin Prabhat, 15 Corps Commander Lieutenant General Prashant Srivastava, and Major General Balbir Singh. The discussions delved deep into counter-terror operations, border management, intelligence coordination, and the volatile situation in sensitive districts.

Officials briefed the LG on enhanced coordination between the Army, J&K Police, and other agencies to deliver swift responses to potential threats. Emphasis was placed on area domination tactics, advanced surveillance systems, and proactive operational strategies to maintain vigilance across the region.

Lieutenant Governor Sinha directed authorities to uphold the highest levels of alertness, ensuring peace and stability throughout Jammu and Kashmir. The proactive measures underscore the administration’s commitment to safeguarding civilians while ongoing development projects continue unabated.

In light of the security scenario, stringent restrictions were imposed across the valley. All schools, colleges, universities, business establishments, and public transport services remain shuttered. Public gatherings and processions are banned, and internet speeds have been throttled to curb inflammatory social media content from mischief-makers.

These robust steps are designed to preserve tranquility and preempt any anti-social activities, reflecting a zero-tolerance approach to disruptions in the region.
