Welfare Minister Shri Chamra Linda said that the state government is fully committed to the future and education of the students. Scholarships are not just financial assistance, but a symbol of social justice and equality of opportunity. The government is serious about ensuring that no eligible student is deprived of scholarships. Welfare Minister Shri Chamra Linda was reviewing the updated status of scholarship distribution under the post-matric scholarship scheme with Welfare Commissioner Shri Kuldeep Chaudhary and other officials at the Kalyan Complex located in Morhabadi, Ranchi on Monday.

During the review, it was found that a target of benefiting a total of 11,34,183 students was set under the Backward Classes Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme from the financial year 2022-23 to 2024-25. So far, an online transfer of an amount of ₹1202.89 crore has been successfully done in the bank accounts of 7,45,557 students.

Minister Shri Chamra Linda was informed that approximately ₹900 crore of outstanding amount has not been received from the central government so far, due to which the process of providing benefits to the remaining eligible students is being affected. Shri Linda said that the state government, while formally informing the central government in this regard, has requested to make the outstanding amount available soon, so that no obstacle is created in the scholarship distribution work.
