    The monsoon season is active, bringing widespread rainfall across the country. The weather department has issued warnings about a new low-pressure area forming in the Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours. This system could lead to torrential rainfall across India. Delhi-NCR experienced heavy rainfall on Saturday night, with more rain expected in Delhi today.

    The weather department forecasts cloudy skies and light to moderate rain in Delhi today. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected this morning and afternoon, along with light to moderate rain. The weather department indicates this pattern of rain and thunderstorms in Delhi could last until August 29.

    Uttar Pradesh is under a heavy rainfall alert issued by the weather department. The department has issued an alert for 40 districts in Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall late this evening or tonight. The intensity of rainfall is expected to reduce in the state from August 26.

    Odisha experienced heavy rainfall on Saturday, with the expectation of continued heavy rainfall for the next few days. West Bengal and Jharkhand are likely to experience rainfall for the next 3 to 4 days. Eastern Rajasthan is expected to receive rain today, while southern Rajasthan may receive heavy rainfall until August 26. The weather department anticipates heavy rainfall in Gujarat until August 29. Konkan and central Maharashtra are likely to receive heavy rainfall until August 29, and some areas may experience torrential rainfall on August 27 and 28.

    An orange alert has been issued for Uttarakhand. The public is advised to remain cautious for the next 24 to 72 hours. Districts like Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Nainital, Almora, Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, and Udham Singh Nagar are expected to experience very heavy rainfall with thunderstorms. Pithoragarh is also anticipated to receive rainfall.
