A violent confrontation unfolded in Ranchi, Jharkhand, where traffic police personnel were brutally assaulted by auto rickshaw drivers. The incident occurred at Kathal More, under the jurisdiction of the Nagri police station. The attack, which took place in broad daylight, was captured on video and has been widely shared on social media.
Reports indicate that the attack was initiated by several auto drivers who used stones to target the traffic police officers. One officer, identified as Rohit Ganjhu, sustained critical injuries, including a head wound, and was immediately admitted to RIMS hospital in Ranchi for urgent medical care.
The perpetrators fled the scene following the assault, and police are actively pursuing them. The Traffic SP of Ranchi has stated that strict measures will be taken against those responsible. The Nagri police station is currently investigating the matter.
The viral video shows the auto drivers repeatedly attacking the traffic police officers, who are also seen using batons in an attempt to defend themselves. The footage shows the moment one police officer was hit by a stone after police used batons, causing him to collapse.
