A wave of sorrow has hit Matwe village in the Budmu police station jurisdiction of Ranchi following the murder of Sapan Das, a well-respected Bengali doctor. The incident took place on Saturday night, with the physician’s throat found slit. Two unknown assailants are believed to be responsible for the fatal attack. Dr. Das, who had been a fixture in the village for a considerable period, was reportedly ambushed on his way home from his medical practice. Although locals heard the disturbance and rushed to the scene, the perpetrators had already fled. Police arrived on Sunday to commence their investigation and have sent the deceased’s body for a post-mortem. In a significant breakthrough, one suspect has been apprehended and is currently being questioned by the police as part of their ongoing inquiry into this shocking crime.
