Hatia Railway Station became the site of a major anti-human trafficking success on December 16, 2025, with the RPF’s ‘Operation Aahat’ leading to the rescue of two young girls. Acting on intelligence, the AHTU and DNFT teams of the Ranchi RPF division apprehended Mohammad Mustafa Ansari and the two minors, aged 12 and 13, near the VIP gate on Platform 1. The girls were allegedly being taken to Chennai by the accused, who promised them employment in domestic households and a monthly salary of ₹10,000. Authorities found evidence of the trafficker’s communication, including photos sent via WhatsApp and booked tickets for the planned journey. The rescued children have been safely handed over to Premashray, Ranchi, for support, and the suspect is facing charges following the registration of a case at AHTU/Kotwali, Ranchi.
