Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today met 15 workers from Jharkhand and their families who were safely rescued from the Silkyara Tunnel accident under construction on Yamunotri National Highway in Uttarakhand and their families at the Chief Minister’s residence on Kanke Road, Ranchi. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the workers of the state and their families were airlifted to Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi today. Workers coming to Ranchi include Mr. Vishwajit Kumar Verma (Giridih), Mr. Subodh Kumar Verma (Giridih), Mr. Anil Bedia (Ranchi), Mr. Rajendra Vedia (Ranchi), Mr. Sukram Bedia (Ranchi), Mr. Tinku Sardar (East Singhbhum), Mr. Gundhar. Nayak (East Singhbhum) Shri Ranjit Lohar (East Singhbhum) Shri Ravindra Nayak (East Singhbhum) Shri Sameer Naik (East Singhbhum) Shri Bhuktu Murmu (East Singhbhum), Shri Mahadev Naik (West Singhbhum), Shri Chamra Oraon (Khunti), Shri Vijay Horo (Khunti), Shri Ganpati Horo (Khunti).
A team of state government officials was sent to Uttarakhand
The Chief Minister told all the workers who came to meet him that the state government is with the workers. The Chief Minister said that the present state government has started many schemes for the safety and welfare of workers. Soon a proposal will be sent from about a dozen states of the country to enter into an agreement. Under this agreement, our government will be able to provide every possible help to the migrant labourers. The Chief Minister said that the state government is working to make people skilled. In the last few months, thousands of jobs have been given to youth in many private sectors by making them skilled. Along with this, the government is also giving appointments under government jobs. The Chief Minister said that when the information about your labor brothers getting trapped in the tunnel accident was received, it was a time of great worry and fear for your family members as well as for the people of the entire state. We all were praying for your safe return. The state government sent a team of officers to Uttarakhand for your safe return home. May maximum relief be provided to all of you. Our officials remained busy day and night to ensure that your family members do not face any trouble. The Chief Minister also appreciated the courage, patience and bravery of the workers.
Chief Minister directed to connect all the workers with various schemes run by the state government.
Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren has instructed the workers to connect them with various schemes worth more than Rs 1 crore 11 lakh. The Chief Minister has directed the officials to cover the workers with Abu Awas Yojana, Pension Scheme, Ayushman Card, Agricultural Machinery, Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme, MNREGA Job Card, Chief Minister Livestock Scheme, Animal Shed Scheme, Gram Gaadi Scheme and other schemes. The Chief Minister told the workers that he himself will monitor your employment and the schemes given to you.

Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that all the workers trapped in the Uttarakhand tunnel accident have returned safely to their state and homes. It is a matter of happiness for your family members as well as the entire state. On the occasion, the Chief Minister gave his best wishes to all the workers by gifting them body clothes and shawls.
It is known that after November 12, 41 workers were trapped in the under-construction Silkyara Tunnel accident in Uttarakhand for 16 days, and were rescued after much effort by various rescue teams. During this time, a team of state government officials was also present in Uttarakhand and was providing all possible help to the families of the workers present there and the stranded workers.
