On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Dharti Aba Lord Birsa Munda and State Foundation Day, Governor Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren and Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Shri Juel Oram participated in the program organized at Birsa Munda Complex, Ulihatu, Khunti. The ceremony was organized after paying floral tributes on the birth anniversary of Dharti Aba Lord Birsa Munda.

Jharkhand is the land of heroes..

Addressing the program on this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that Jharkhand is the land of heroes. Many of our heroes have sacrificed their everything to give birth to the state of Jharkhand. Our brave martyrs have shown us the way and made us strong. He said that it is our duty to build the Jharkhand of the dreams of those whose struggles, tireless efforts, and sacrifices led to the creation of this state. At present, we all have a big responsibility to adorn and develop this state. He said that Honorable Dishom Guru Baba Shibu Soren, who followed the ideals of Dharti Aba Lord Birsa Munda, is not among us today. His absence is being felt by all of us at this moment. When an elderly member leaves home, a complete silence descends upon that house, and today I am somehow going through this period of pain.

All-round development of tribal communities is our commitment

Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that our government is reaching out to every village in the state to understand the sorrows and difficulties of people of all classes and communities. The Chief Minister said that the state government is operating many ambitious schemes keeping in mind the all-round development of tribal communities. The Chief Minister said that tribal communities are being given top priority in the state government’s development schemes. The Chief Minister said that our government is spending 50% of its expenditure on the welfare of mothers, sisters, daughters, and the poor and farmers in villages. Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that our government is a government that runs from the villages, not from the state headquarters in Ranchi. Development schemes are continuously reaching the courtyards of every family’s home and will continue to do so. The Chief Minister said that many young people present in this assembly today were born after the formation of the state. Today our state is a 25-year-old young state. We are working with the aim of taking this state forward on our own strength with the youth and establishing it among the leading states of the country, and our government is giving shape to its action plans with this goal.

State government is working specially to empower women

The Chief Minister said that a few years ago, people here had to borrow from moneylenders or wealthy people for treatment and education, but now our government is working to change these circumstances. He said that the state government is gradually working specially to empower women. Better work is being done in the fields of education and health. Many important works will be done in the coming days on the development of sports, tourism, employment, and infrastructure, for which a roadmap is being prepared. The Chief Minister said that the thinking of our government is that happiness should come to the home and family of every Jharkhandi, there should be smiles on people’s faces, and all residents of the state should participate in the overall development of Jharkhand. In the end, the Chief Minister once again extended his heartfelt wishes and greetings to all on the State Foundation Day and paid his respects to Dharti Aba Lord Birsa Munda.

On this occasion, Honorable MLA Shri Vikas Singh Munda, Honorable MLA Shri Ramsurya Munda, Honorable MLA Shri Sudeep Gudiya, Chief Secretary of the state Shri Avinash Kumar, descendant of Dharti Aba Lord Birsa Munda Shri Sukram Munda, senior officials of the district administration, and a large number of villagers were present.
