A tragic incident occurred in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district during an anti-Naxal operation. Sandeep Kumar, a soldier from the 209 Battalion, was bitten by a cobra in the Nurdha forest. Despite immediate medical care, he could not be saved and passed away en route to Ranchi for further treatment.

This event is a stark reminder of the dangers faced by security personnel in the Naxal-affected areas, where threats come not only from insurgents but also from the natural environment, including venomous snakes and adverse weather conditions.
