East Singhbhum is on edge after the brazen killing of a known criminal, Tauqeer alias Gora, in the Kadma police station area. The incident took place late Thursday night in Shastrinagar Block No. 2. Tauqeer was reportedly standing near a mosque when two assailants arrived on a motorbike. He was subjected to a vicious attack, including stabbing and multiple gunshots. He collapsed at the scene and was taken to TMH, where he was declared deceased. Doctors confirmed he had been shot five times. Tauqeer, believed to be a key member of the ‘Mardana Gang’ with a criminal record and recent release from prison, is suspected to have been targeted due to inter-gang conflicts. Police have secured the area and collected evidence, including shell casings, and are pursuing leads through CCTV footage. The Senior Superintendent of Police has assured swift action to apprehend the culprits.
