Santosh Gangwar took oath as the 12th Governor of Jharkhand

Ranchi. Santosh Gangwar took oath as the 12th Governor of Jharkhand on Wednesday morning. Acting Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Sujit Narayan Prasad administered the oath of office and secrecy to him at a ceremony held at Birsa Mandap of Raj Bhavan in Ranchi. After the swearing-in, Chief Minister Hemant Soren congratulated him. Speaker of Jharkhand Assembly Rabindranath Mahato, several ministers of the state government, leaders of various parties, senior police-administrative officers and dignitaries were present on the occasion of the swearing-in. Many members of Governor Santosh Gangwar’s family also witnessed this proud moment. Before taking the oath, Santosh Gangwar went to Birsa Munda Smriti Park-cum-Museum and offered flowers to the statue of Dhartiaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Santosh Kumar Gangwar has been an MP from Bareilly parliamentary seat of Uttar Pradesh eight times. He was also a minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi governments at the Centre.

This time, the party did not give ticket to BJP’s strong leader Gangwar from Bareilly parliamentary seat. Since then, it was believed that the central government would decide a big role for him. When the notification of his appointment as Governor was issued, he had said that the party has always given me everything without asking. Now by making me the Governor, they have expressed faith in me. I am also grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this. I will live up to the new responsibility he has given me. Santosh Gangwar is the 12th Governor of Jharkhand. After the formation of the state on 15 November 2000, Prabhat Kumar was the first to take oath as the Governor. After that Vinod Chandra Pandey, M. Rama Jois, Ved Prakash Marwah, Syed Sibte Razi, Shankar Narayanan, HOH Farooq, Dr. Syed Ahmed, Draupadi Murmu, Ramesh Bais and CP Radhakrishnan have held this post.
