A significant theft has occurred in Jhumritilaiya, Koderma, where unidentified individuals broke into an empty house and stole a substantial amount of valuables. The targeted property belonged to a retired bank employee, Sanjay Ghosh, who was on an extended visit to his daughter. The thieves exploited the home’s vacancy, forcing entry through a rear door and a broken window grill. Once inside, they systematically searched two rooms, emptying almirahs of their contents. The stolen haul includes an estimated Rs 14 lakh in gold and other jewelry, plus Rs 50,000 in cash. The severity of the crime has put residents on edge, as it follows a pattern of unresolved burglaries in the city. The owner confirmed the loss upon returning home and has filed a formal complaint. Police are pursuing leads, including the analysis of local CCTV feeds, in their effort to apprehend the culprits.
