RANCHI: On the solemn occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren led a heartfelt tribute at Bapu Vatika in Morhabadi Maidan. The leaders placed floral wreaths at the feet of the Father of the Nation’s statue, drawing crowds to reflect on his enduring legacy.
The event unfolded with soul-stirring bhajans and Ramdhun performed by local artists, captivating attendees including top dignitaries. Governor Gangwar emphasized Gandhi’s ideals as a guiding light for all Indians, urging everyone to emulate his principles of non-violence and truth in daily life.
In a special mention, the Governor expressed gratitude to the Central Government for awarding the Padma Bhushan posthumously to late former Chief Minister Shibu Soren, hailing him as ‘Dishom Guru’ whose contributions to Jharkhand’s formation remain invaluable. Chief Minister Soren highlighted Gandhi’s philosophy of sacrifice and struggle as a blueprint for building a prosperous state and a peaceful world.
Ministers and parliamentarians, including Deepika Pandey Singh and Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, joined in paying respects. The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of Gandhi’s relevance in contemporary India, inspiring unity and ethical governance amid modern challenges.
