Ranchi DC Directs Measures to Enhance Farmer Crop Value

Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri chaired a high-level meeting of the Sidho-Kanho Agriculture and Forest Produce District Cooperative Union Limited (SIDCOFED) this Tuesday at the Ranchi Collectorate. The primary agenda was to strengthen the cooperative sector and find innovative ways to increase farmer income. During the session, the DC emphasized that value addition is the only sustainable way to ensure that farmers receive a fair price for their produce, rather than just selling raw materials. To implement this vision, the board approved the setting up of specialized processing units in Rudia and Ormanjhi. These units will be equipped with modern machinery for millet processing as well as oil extractors for Karanj and Sal seeds.
