Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLA Ramdas Soren has taken oath as minister in place of Champai Soren. He has got a new responsibility in the state government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Champai Soren has resigned from the party and post, accusing Hemant Soren of insult. Earlier he had announced to form a new party, but later he decided to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered the oath

Ghatsila MLA Ramdas Soren was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar at a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan in presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, senior leaders of the JMM-led alliance and several government officials. Champai Soren had resigned as minister and MLA on Wednesday, following which Ramdas Soren was inducted into the state Cabinet. He is scheduled to join the BJP this afternoon. Champai Soren, who was sworn in as minister in the Hemant Soren Cabinet last month, also quit the JMM on Wednesday. He claimed that the “current functioning and policies” of the state government forced him to leave the party he served for many years.
