Ranchi is bracing for light showers as the meteorological department forecasts rain across 13 districts of Jharkhand on February 24. This update comes amid a slight dip in daytime temperatures, signaling a shift in the state’s weather patterns.

The affected areas span central districts including Ranchi, Bokaro, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh, Lohardaga, Koderma, and Dhanbad. Southern regions like East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega, and Saraikela-Kharsawan are also in the forecast for precipitation.

On Thursday, Ranchi’s maximum temperature dropped by one degree to 29.5 degrees Celsius from Wednesday’s 30 degrees. Morning skies remained clear, but partial cloud cover in the afternoon contributed to the cooling trend. Experts predict cloudy conditions persisting until February 25.

Over the past 24 hours, Jharkhand recorded its highest temperature of 33.8 degrees Celsius and the lowest at 9.8 degrees in Gumla. Ranchi saw a high of 29.5 and low of 13.8 degrees, while Jamshedpur hit 32.5 high and 15.2 low. Other cities like Daltonganj, Bokaro, Chaibasa, Khunti, Lohardaga, Latehar, and Saraikela also experienced varied temperatures, mostly in the upper 20s to low 30s with cooler nights.

Residents are advised to prepare for intermittent rain, which could bring relief from the recent warmth but may impact outdoor activities. Farmers in these districts should monitor updates closely as early rains could influence crop cycles. The weather shift highlights Jharkhand’s unpredictable February climate, often caught between winter’s tail and summer’s onset.

As clouds gather, the state watches for more developments, with the meteorology team urging vigilance through the weekend.
