Authorities have arrested Premchand Sahu, the prime suspect in the murder of Saraswati Kumari, a minor girl residing in a live-in relationship in Kumang village, under the jurisdiction of Tapkara police station. The arrest took place on Saturday night, following the incident that occurred on Saturday morning. Inspector Ashok Kumar Singh of Torpa zone, alongside Tapkara police station in-charge Nitesh Kumar Gupta, disclosed the arrest during a press conference at Torpa police station on Sunday. The accused, Premchand Sahu, is a native of Malgo village in the Lapung police station area, Ranchi. Police received a tip-off that the suspect was attempting to escape on a motorcycle. Acting swiftly, law enforcement conducted a raid and apprehended him within the Torpa police station limits. During the interrogation, the accused confessed to the murder of Saraswati Kumari. Consequently, the murder weapon (knife), the motorcycle, a bag and a mobile phone were recovered based on his information. The raiding team comprised of Torpa Circle Police Inspector Ashok Kumar Singh, Torpa Police Station in-charge Mukesh Kumar Hemberam, Tapkara Police Station in-charge Nitesh Kumar Gupta, SI Shyamal Kumbhkar, and armed personnel from both Torpa and Tapkara police stations.
