The Singhbhum Sports Association ground in West Singhbhum (Chaibasa) is now open again, much to the delight of the players. The ground was sealed on Tuesday, leading to an uproar from the athletes who depend on it for training. The Deputy Commissioner, Chandan Kumar, had ordered the closure, citing the National Sports Development Code of India 2011. The sealing was carried out with the presence of several officials. The players were upset as they had no other place to practice in the city, and the sudden closure disrupted their routines and preparation for the upcoming Home Guard recruitment. The matter came to the attention of Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, the General Secretary of the Singhbhum Sports Association, who is also a former MLA. He immediately contacted the authorities and advocated for the ground to be reopened, which was done swiftly. A meeting is planned for June 14 to discuss the future of the ground.
