    The Meteorological Department has alerted the public about the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the Jharkhand districts of Palamu, Garhwa, Latehar, and Chatra on August 23rd. An orange alert has been put into effect. The department anticipates continued rainfall across Jharkhand for the next five days and has recommended precautions, particularly for those in low-lying areas. According to meteorologist Abhishek Anand, heavy rain could bring winds of 30-40 kmph and potential lightning strikes. There is also a risk of water accumulation in low-lying regions and potential damage to weaker structures. The recent rainfall has disrupted normal life in Ranchi and other parts of the state. Over the past day, Saraikela Kharsawan received the highest rainfall in the state, measuring 67.2 millimeters. Ranchi recorded 12.2 millimeters. On Friday, the maximum temperatures were: Ranchi 29.8 degrees Celsius, Jamshedpur 30.8 degrees, Daltonganj 33.6 degrees, Bokaro 32.1 degrees, and Chaibasa 32.8 degrees.
