A criminal sustained a bullet injury during an exchange of fire with Dhanbad police early Tuesday. The incident took place around 5 AM in the Tetulmari police station jurisdiction, near the water plant in Tilataad jungle. Acting on specific intelligence regarding criminals gathering to plot nefarious acts, the police PCR team reached the spot. On being spotted, a gangster identified as Bhanu Manjhi, reportedly linked to the notorious Prince Khan, opened fire on the police. In self-defense, the police fired back, striking Manjhi in the leg. The injured suspect was immediately taken into custody and is currently receiving medical attention at Asharfi Hospital in Dhanbad. The police have secured the scene and commenced a comprehensive search and investigation. This operation underscores the proactive approach adopted by Dhanbad police to dismantle criminal networks. A motorcycle and incriminating weapons were recovered.
