Khunti district witnessed the celebration of the Jivitputrika festival on Sunday, observed with traditional gaiety and religious customs. Mothers undertook a day-long, water-free fast and performed prayers to ensure the long and prosperous lives of their children. The Jivitputrika vrat was observed in various areas of the city, including Karra Road, Torpa Road, Pipratoli, Mishra Toli, Badaik Tola, and surrounding villages and localities, where sacred peepal tree branches were installed for collective worship. Mothers from these regions participated in the prayers with great enthusiasm, seeking blessings for their children. Additionally, collective worship was also organized at peepal trees in different areas.
Besides the district headquarters, the Jivitputrika festival was also celebrated with devotion in Torpa, Karra, Rania, Murhu, Arki, and other block headquarters and rural areas. The Jitiya festival was celebrated with joy in district headquarters, as well as Torpa, Rania, Murhu, Arki, and other rural areas.
