Jharkhand is bracing for continued rainfall, with the weather forecast predicting light to moderate showers until July 6th, and heavy rainfall in some areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for several districts, including Gumla, Simdega, Khunti, and West Singhbhum, warning of heavy rainfall until 8:30 AM on Thursday. Another Yellow Alert is in place for Lohardaga, Latehar, Chatra, Koderma, Hazaribagh, and Ramgarh districts, valid until 8:30 AM on July 4th. The state capital, Ranchi, and most areas of Jharkhand have been experiencing rainfall since Wednesday morning. Abhishek Anand, head of the Ranchi Meteorological Center, stated that the weather conditions are influenced by a cyclonic circulation over southern Jharkhand and the ongoing monsoon, leading to the expected rainfall pattern. The monsoon arrived in Jharkhand on June 17th, and since then, the state has received significantly above-average rainfall. From June 1st to July 2nd, Jharkhand recorded 382.3 mm of rainfall, 85% more than the normal 206.5 mm. Ranchi district saw the most significant increase, with rainfall 203% higher than average. Latehar and East Singhbhum also experienced above-average rainfall, with increases of 182% and 158%, respectively.
