The mahouts formed an acquaintance with another elephant owner in the area. Narendra last saw the elephant and the two mahouts on August 11th in Palamu. Upon returning on August 13th, he found both the elephant and the mahouts missing. Narendra reported that he searched for the elephant in several parts of Jharkhand but was unable to find it, nor could he locate the mahouts. The police and forest department are actively searching for the missing elephant.
