Violence erupted in Latehar, Jharkhand, late Saturday night as a criminal gang targeted a railway siding, setting a truck on fire and firing shots. The incident occurred near the Phulbasiya (Amarwadih) railway siding in the Bariyatu police station area. According to reports, the criminals arrived on a motorcycle and started firing, before setting fire to a truck. A second truck was targeted, but the driver managed to escape. A note found at the scene indicated that the Rahul Dubey gang was responsible for the attack. The note warned coal traders in the Latehar, Chatra, and Balumath regions to engage in business only after contacting the gang, threatening dire consequences for those who failed to comply. Police officials, including the SDPO, are investigating the incident and have initiated an FIR. The SDPO initially contested reports of shots fired. The burned truck was completely destroyed.
