The Jharkhand government has introduced a new compensation plan for landowners in the Chitra colliery area. This scheme provides a transparent and beneficial annuity option for those affected by land acquisition in Jharkhand and West Bengal. The government has announced two key options: a lump-sum compensation and an annuity scheme, which will directly benefit many families. Colliery agent Umesh Prasad Choudhary highlighted the importance of the scheme for families whose land is being used for land development. This initiative emphasizes transparency, fairness, and long-term advantages. Detailed documents will be released soon. The maximum compensation rate in Jharkhand will be up to ₹20 lakh per acre.
