Although RJD managed to secure the ticket for Rajnish, the path to electoral triumph is far from straightforward. The primary challenge stems from a significant internal conflict within the Mahagathbandhan, as the Congress party has fielded its candidate, Praveen Kushwaha, declaring Kahalgaon its traditional stronghold.
Congress maintains that Kahalgaon has historically been its seat, referencing the considerable success of its veteran leader, Sadanand Singh.
