During a hearing related to land acquisition and compensation in the Jharkhand High Court, a judge reprimanded Project Director Manoj Kumar. The judge criticized Kumar’s actions, particularly regarding his opposition to state-determined compensation amounts, suggesting a motive for personal gain. The judge’s remarks, caught on video, have garnered significant attention. The judge questioned Kumar’s authority and the use of public funds, remarking, “This is the public’s money. It cannot be wasted like this.”

The judge further advised Manoj Kumar to operate within his jurisdiction, warning him against interfering unnecessarily. The judge pointedly inquired about the assets Kumar had accumulated, indicating a potential investigation. The judge highlighted that this was a unique case, driven solely by the pursuit of commissions. Following the judge’s criticism, Manoj Kumar offered a public apology in court.
