Ranchi: Jharkhand’s first Energy Minister Lalchand Mahato, 72, passed away late on Thursday night. His brother Chetlal Mahato said that the health of the former minister was unwell for the last few days. On Thursday night at 11 pm, he collapsed in the bathroom of his flat in Amravati Apartment, Lalpur, Ranchi. After this he became unconscious. The family immediately took him to a private hospital in Lalpur, where the doctors declared him dead. Let us tell you that he had become MLA thrice from Dumri Assembly constituency of Giridih. After the formation of Jharkhand, he was made the first Energy Minister of the state.
